Detroit accepts the overpay. I think you can get a better player than Bert - especially if he’ll be seeing 3rd line minutes - for Kotkaniemi

The lines are not necessarily fixed. The way the 2nd and 3rd lines are put together they can both play equal minutes.

I wouldn't be surprised . I figured VAN might accept since Gally is locked for longer term than Miller.

Word is that CGY should expect a return similar to what NSH got for Arvidsson. I'm just the messenger.

They say it's cause of his production decline the last 2 yrs.

Edler won't leave Vancouver. Guy just doesn't want to move anywhere else. He'll retire or play in Vancouver only. Thornton Will be back in Toronto. Marleau, why? Getzlaf isn't leaving Anaheim, its his home and he's already won a cup. I think you're overpaying for Suter. And the Miller/Gallagher trade may be fair value, but that trades not happening. Miller means too much in Vancouver because he can take faceoffs for Petterson.

The only deal here that MTL would do is the Calgary deal but even that is only if Danault doesnt resign. The rest are overpays, other the Vancouver but Gally will be the next captian after Weber so they still decline

If you don't think the team I put together isn't better than what we had in the playoff run, then our assessments of talent and needs are very different. Every move I did is to improve our chances of winning a cup while Price can play at the current level. Ya perhaps on paper I over payed but most of those contracts are long enough to buy us time to replenish the prospect cupboard. Just to make it clear the Hertl deal is only going through if he immidiately agrees (behind closed doors) to resign with us.

Its a better team for sure but I dont think they should be moving the window closer, i think the window should be when Caufield and Suzuki are in thier primes. Carey will likely never get a cup but its the way it goes in this league
