I would also rather wait and see what is going to happen with Eichel's surgery. Will he come out of it as good as new or will he come out with a prognosis of needing additional surgeries and his career over. It doesn't make sense to make a move for him before we know what the effects of his surgery will be.

If you're adding Drouin to that Buffalo trade it should cost Montreal MORE to get Eichel, not less.

Romanov, Kotkaniemi and a 1st is already quite rich. I know Buffalo will ask for more. But i much rather keep the low cost assets instead of the injury risk and high AAV from Eichel
