My guess is that this was put out to drum up trade interest in domi and that if he isn't traded he will be protected

lol I have a friend who's a Columbus fan and he's losing his mind over Domi not being protected so I'm sure he'd love to see this. If you're actually a CBJ fan and not just doing this for fun, what are your thoughts on it?

I can't see Domi being protected by CBJ or even selected by Seattle. He doesn't provide value at 5.6m. Seattle selects even 1m player even a AHLer, and then have 5.6m more for use for a UFA.

He's 32, 5.8 million till he's 35. If Seattle wants him, take him.

My thoughts are that Domi is a pending UFA and I have a hunch his recovery will take longer than expected.

The recovery might even continue all the way up to the 2022 trade deadline if his condition is that severe.

Exposing Domi would allow Columbus to protect Stenlund.

The reason why Domi likely won’t be protected is due to his shoulder injury. Could be out of play into 2022. CBJ should just leave him and Atkinson unprotected.

This is prime chance for CBJ to rid themselves of bad cap and salary.
Cam is a decent player and all, but he's old and that contract is just going to get worse when they need to get better.
