    As a Rangers fan I could obviously never ever hope to be as smart about hockey as a fan from Canada and his (or her) high horse, so maybe you could (re)educate me...

    I was under the impression that when a player waives his no trade clause, said player no longer has a no trade clause. Am I incorrect in my assumption smart guy?

    Yes. Yes you are incorrect. He waived his NMC for the expansion draft only. His NMC transfers with him...

    Lmao about Price possibly being traded by Seattle with half his contract retained to Toronto. How good would Price look with a big Maple Leaf across his chest?

    But don’t worry, I’m sure Toronto fans would forever be grateful for the cup Montreal gifted them by providing the missing peace to a championship that has euded them for such a long time.

    Your correct, but I’m sure it gets waived again, if Seattle explains up front and keeps price in the mix on his next city, I’m assuming price wants a ring or closer to where he grew up, or both if possible.

    Actually they changed the rule in the CBA this year. Now when a player waives their NTC or NMC for a trade their protection transfers to the new team as opposed to just disappearing.
