That seems about right value for Sam, but I feel like the Sabres are coveting higher draft picks or younger prospects. But I could be wrong

Hoping this doesn't come out as being harsh, but Sam Reinhart isn't a 1c, at all. Career 39 percent in face-offs. Besides Russo speculating, he hasn't said wild would be interested in sam Reinhart

- Reinhart is more Winger than C..you don't trade for him, pay him then still need to trade for top c, while needing to sign kaprizov, and fiala

Kaapo should be kept. No reason wild should trade a good, young cheap back up, and future starter, along with an average, but good young cheap player in greenway and 1st round pick for sam Reinhart. Sorry but he's not special . Kaprizov is better than him along with fiala

- maybe I am bias, but rather have consistency in Kaapo over another devin dubnyk in Casey D. I watched his games. He let's in way too many easy goals

Oh yeah but he's nothing more than a Winger. We want 1c as Ek is moving to 2c , and apparently sturm or nick foligno will be 3c

I think you should not make FO% your #1 argument. If you want to argue sample size - sure - but the guy has all the traits to be a great C and it showed when they finally put him there this year. Faceoffs are important, but 1) they'll come with experience and 2) other things are much more important (vision, playmaking, decision making, positioning). Besides that, he'll score 25 goals with any 2 linemates you throw out there with him.

@ the OP I'd be happy to keep Sam as our 1C in BUF going forward, but this is a pretty good trade if you guys can get him under contract.

This team would get blown up in Year 2 by the 8M increase in dead cap.

Buyout dead cap hits
2021 4.6M
2022 12.7M
2023 14.7M
2024 14.7M
Then
2025 - 2029 1.6M

1) Wild lost games including game 7 of playoffs because of faceoff loses.

2 ) Reinhart isn't a 1c , not even close which is what wild need. We have 2c in Joel Eriksson Ek. 3c / 4c in Nick foligno, Nico sturm, and nick bjustad

3) he wouldn't even lead wild in points, or G. That belong to kaprizov

I think its fairly obvious that no matter what we do we are going to have to face the cap problems in 2 years. I see someone say something about the cap on every Wild post, we know! Dumba and Zucc will def be gone after next year.

IMO id be super happy if we acquired him as a 1C, he'd be putting up 70 points with Kap and Zucc.
