Bean was over rated by Canes fans. Waddell has been trying to trade him for years with no takers. Heck, the guy that drafted him (Francis) just had the opportunity to take him...for free...literally a couple days ago and passed. CAR won that Bean trade IMO.

Ned trade can’t be judged until we see the final product in net, and how they use the 3M-ish space space.

Bean hasn’t shown anything in the NHL yet to be upset at trading him for a second. Let’s see what contract he signs with CBJ and if he makes their roster first.

If an NHL owner isn’t ‘flush’ enough to pay any player $3M salary then they wouldn’t and shouldn’t be an owner. This narrative continues to only be for people ignorant of the entire situation or who just want to pick a fight/argue for no reason.

I didn’t like the Ned trade personally - mainly because I like Neds personality and how he played. But I’m not ignorant enough to think I know the entire strategy and story.

Because we can get bottom pairing defenders for near league minimum who are reliable in the defensive end. Bean might have potential to be top 4 at some point but we need performance now.

There wasn’t enough data to give ned 3 million. If he would take the 1.5 for one year to prove it but he wanted starter money and spot now. Don’t blame him but a team wanting to compete can’t guarantee that. Detroit probably was one of the only to give him that.

Ned... this is because Carolina believe he wasn't the answer. They're banking on his great numbers being a hot run behind a fantastic defense. If he craps himself in Detroit, they've hit the nail on the head.

Bean hasn't done anything. At all. He's a defensive liability, and his offense is meh at best. Right now, he's a 3rd pairing OFD and defensively, he could still be a Calgary Hitman... this deal is fine.

IMO People need to stop being angry at the team for moving on from players they've developed. If they do not want the player, they should move them
