Description
This assumes Mika wants too much money and walks. Also that other guys bridge and Chytil truly steps up and develops. We’ll need the cap to go up desperately. Without trading Trouba I don’t see how we can keep our guys. Assumes Trouba waives to play at home, unless we keep him and role with Chytil, Barron, Goodrow and Korczak down the middle, but I don’t think we get to the playoffs like that.

I don’t think that would work for the Yzerplan…

$6 mil for a top 4 right shot d man isn’t bad, especially considering his contracts end at 32 so it’ll be done before any major decline. People on here will complain, but if this was offered in real life and he waived the NMC, it could easily happen. I don’t have to remind you of some of the trades we’ve seen the past couple of weeks.

While I dont think theyd go out looking for trouba if thats the deal then yeah they do it. Even if they flipped him cheap you can't say no to free assets in a rebuild

The problem is that we already have two top-4 RD and don't really need a third especially if he cost 6 million for three years. One of the three would have to be traded away and with Trouba being both the oldest and the most expensuve of the three that would be him.

If we got him for nothing and then traded him to someone wanting him it would be a pure win for us but what's stopping you from trading him directly to that team and you getting the return instead of us?

This is two years out and pure speculation at this point but I don't see this happening at all.

It's pretty good value for Detroit, I'd probably do it and then maybe move Hronek for a young LD or forward.

I feel like I would take it and then deal with the situation afterwards.

I agree a 2nd rd pick to take Trouba. Seriously how can you turn that down?

    Of course.

But if it's possible for us to trade Trouba (because it would be him, he's both older, more expensive, and closer to regression than Seider and Hronek) then it is equally possible for NYR to trade him to the same team. Why would Rangers give us Trouba for free and watch us immediately trade him to team X when they could just as easily trade him to team X themselves?

It will not be possible for us to keep all three defenders even for one year. we have Larkin, Bertuzzi, Fabbri, Suter,Zadina, Stephens, Erne Vrána and 7 defenders and 2 goalies and Veleno and Barton and McIsaac on new and more expensive contracts in two years time.

I get that, seems like an unrealistic situation
