You want pre-injury Eichel returns.
Unfortunately, he has a neck injury that requires surgery.
No team is going to risk giving up the farm for a questionable return…Neck and back injuries are very iffy in regular life, let alone high contact sports.
That is why he has not been traded yet.
No team is willing to pay the asking price.
Eichel will have his surgery, rehab, and will be an unhappy camper.

That's an overpayment for McDavid lol. Not saying Edmonton would accept but its more than enough value. Value is also there in the Eichel trade but I have no interest in trading a center for a RW, especially when we aren't going to be competitive for a couple seasons

Marner would probably be enough but I don't think he fits the Sabers right now. At least in this trade they can keep a few pieces and flip Marner.

They are a team in need of something to build around and Eichel wants out. Marner is under contract and could be your face while you draft a team around him.

That's also a possibility.
