I wouldn't do any of it. Why trade our depth for picks? We're a playoff team going for a cup, not a rebuilding team

Would literally change everything- what would the leafs want with mid round picks that might have a 5% chance of playing in 4 years.

To clear cap & to have flexibility to be big players at deadline.

I don’t think Kuzy is traded. I love Kerfoot as a 3C but don’t like him as a 2C

They could still end up in that position. Injuries will happen and that will add flexibility.

Kuzy likely isn’t traded as his value is low right now and wouldn’t be smart to sell low when he played the last third of the season well and will likely rebound. More likely to be traded next offseason if at all.

If he were to be traded Kerfoot isn’t a replacement. Eller isn’t capable of stepping into 2C for more than a few games at a time. McMichael isn’t ready for top 6 minutes next year. Kerfoot is a third liner. If they move Kuzy they’ll be looking for a replacement 1/2C - maybe somebody like Hertl.

Also Kerfoot isn’t getting a second back.

No player moving at the deadline would require you to leave that much money for cap to accrue. In the meantime you are giving good players away for essentially nothing (future mid picks don't help you). Players that you will most likely need throughout the year as you are in a very competitive division. I like Robertson a ton- he might not be ready to play. Ritchie might struggle to play in your top6 with his skill and pace. Kase will most likely (sadly) be injured. Kerfoot can play in your top 6 LW (that line looked good last year), and he can play a good role in your bottom six. Same goes for Dermott in case TL is not there or ready or an NHL player. Ilya is a far better defensive player than anyone on your LW (besides maybe Bunting), and Engvall probably is as well.
