I don't understand for the life of me why Leaf fans want to trade Holl he's an effective low costing dman as far as the trade with Seattle good luck with that

I agree with you. So many Leafs fans blame Holl and other low cost players for their early playoff exits. And I certainly don't understand trades like the above. Trading 2m Holl for a pick and miraculously the Leafs can sign a replacement Vatanen for 750,000. Seems like a big drop in on ice performance. If Holl and Vatanen were about equal, wouldn't the Pens and Vatanen just be better to sign with Pittsburg for 1.5m?
I don't how 4m Dunn and 750,000 Vatanen are better value than 2m Holl and 1.5m Dermot. Plus the Leafs take a big hit at centre by trading the other whipping boy Kerfoot.

so they leafs pay twice the aav and 10x the asssets in value for a defender who isnt even much better than holl?
