2. Duchene wasn't hurt anymore when he was traded

3. The Return shows how he was valued as a Rental or as a term player (ie. One 1st if he's a rental, and the extra one if he signed with columbus for term)

The comparison makes no sense to Duchene...he was a good player on a bad team that was traded as a rental. In this scenario Eichel is injured, signed for term, and is a player who might go a year and a half and only play 21 games.. The longer buffalo waits the less likely teams are going to overpay, each week he isn't traded adds time he'll miss in a season and you don't over pay and then have him sit in the press box for half the season or longer. Buffalo should've let him have the surgery when he first requested it

Duchene to Ottawa and Turris to Colorado then to nashville might be one of the biggest highway robberies of the last 10-15 years. Sakic just played the best middle man to Ottawa moving on from Turris and looking for a New #1 Center.

But GMs learn, unless named MB. No one will make the mistake of pulling the trigger when they think they have the upper hand. Its why its taken so long and its always the same names in rotation of the rumor's teams are doing their due diligence before the take the risk on eichel even if the pay off is eichel.

I think the real deadline is next July. That’s when his NMC kicks in and another bonus is due. Not ideal to let it go that far but I think it’s trending to playing out that way. Adam’s is going to keep a high ask, teams will likely continue to balk at it given the risk, they let him get the surgery during the season and then he plays second half as a showcase of his health. That’s how I think it’ll play out at least.

That would probably be ideal for buffalo, allow him to grow his stock. IDK why they won't let him have the surgery it doesn't really make sense to me.
