From a value perspective it’s a bit of an overpay but that’s what it would take for the Islanders to consider trading him

As an Oilers pls no. Sorokin is good but I'd rather go after an Elvis in next FA or trade for Georgiev

This fixes the goaltending but does not fix the Oilers. Look at that D core and tell me with a straight face you think that can win the cup.

Cody Ceci is your best shutdown D man. Cody... Ceci...

i do like elvis or georgiev but i personally think sorokin is either going to be an amazing goalie in this league for a long time maybe even s top 5 goalie in the league since he is still really young and performing even in the stanley cup playoffs but he also could be great because of the system he plays in

cody ceci is terribly overhated because of his time with the leafs and i dont think edmonton can win a cup with this team but i think its step in the right direction by giving their young guns actual chances. Cody ceci had a great year in pittsburgh this year i think of him as a less defense more offense adam larsson. Ceci was on pace for a 26 point season this year in a 82 game season while larsson was on pace for 14. yes edmonton is going to struggle keeping the puck out of the net this year showing that they are actual contednors will attract more better players because who the hell wants to live in edmonton in january

i’m not sure what skinner’s value is, but it would take a massive package to get sorokin from the islanders. i don’t think yamamoto and a 1st gets it done.

Edmonton should try to pick up Sissons to anchor the bottom 6. He's able to handle being buried in the defensive zone and brings some stability on a long term, cheap contract.

I mean look at what he did in Russia. That's not just a system.
Also we aren't moving our goalie of the future.

Ceci was worse in his last two years in Ottawa than Toronto.

As a Toronto fan I always said the problem with Ceci was what he was paid and the role they put him in. He's fine as a 2 million dollar 4-6 d man playing 18-19 minutes against 2nd to third pairing competition.

But all that said, that doesn't appear to be the plan, as Barrie has to be sheltered. So the toughs are going either against Bouchard or Ceci...

If you really want to fix Edmonton you'd have to get rid of Keith's contract and replace him for a legitimate defensive defenceman like Brenden Dillon.

You can't win a cup with 4 offensive D men (3 of them in the top 4)
