O'reilly needs to be Center, no point if he's not taking draws

Couts, O'Reilly, Bergeron 4th line...No one would take a Faceoff of them and they wouldn't be scored on

If he plays with anyone but Couturier or Bergeron, he should be C but a player can take the FO and then play on the wing. Bergeron likely plays with Marchand and Crosby anyways.

Putting O'Reilly on the wing is not going to happen, not should it. He's a center, period. Barzal can play wing.

Bergeron likely barely makes it, guys old. He might play but it shouldn't be in the top 6

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I could see Philip Danault making this team as a shut-down, 4th line versatile winger/center. He would look great on the left of O'Reilly and Stone.

I also assume that, with the chemistry that Bergeron and Marchand had with Crosby, if Sid wants them on the team, they're making the team. But that's just my opinion: please don't hate! smile

its unpopular and crazy there is no way he should come close to making this team, theres guys that bring that shutdown role who are better

Barely? "guys old" Yet he was one of the best even at age 35 last season. He was great offensively, arguably the best two-way F and produced at .89 pts/GP. That's just the on ice. He's a lock and considering the chemistry that 63-87-37 line had in 2016, they're likely playing together. You send the best players, no matter the age.

Despite his age Bergeron is still one of the best centers in the league.

And further to other points on here. Being a Center doesn't mean taking faceoffs... traditionally they do, but the game is evolving so much.

You and I don't agree on much on this site. But we agree on this one that's for sure.

Agree to disagree. Team Canada has the luxury of being able to make 2-3 teams that could compete for gold, and every year there are surprises. I don't have a skin in the game, and I don't really care all that much who makes it. I just happened to watch the playoffs, and Danault was dominate, while players like Stone were not. At the end of the day, does i really matter?

they are going to win regardless yes, but they should still bring the best team and danault does not make that team, i'm sorry but unless 15-20 guys get injured then danault doesnt make it

Again: agree to disagree. Anyone who watched the playoffs, including the professional pundits, saw one of the top defensive players in the league. I also said that I could see him making the team. I never said that his place on the team was absolute. Settle down. Regardless of who makes the team, the world will still spin, okay? We're fine.
