Even with that there is no 7th Dman. Leafs are depending Bunting (who has one third a good NHL season) the very middling Kase, and even Ritchie to play way beyond there contracts for the Leafs to upgrade their wings.

Healthy Kase is solid. Bunting rode a 26.3% shooting percentage...Biggggg red flag, but cheaper than Engvall/Mikheyev.

Edit: Add to that the fact that he'll likely end up in a bottom 6 role, and started an eye popping 72.8% of shifts in the offensive zone.

I think he's a good forechecker though, he might be a Hyman-lite.

Hyman could play in his own zone though...that's the only part I'd really be worried about. Worst case, he's a mediocre bottom six forward for under a mil. Best case, you get great value offensively for him.

There's no real loss here, I'd just be worried about anyone who thinks that he's more than he actually is.

Leafs have a bunch of forwards that might fight for a roster spot that isn't in your Armchair GM:
1. Nick Robertson
2. Joey Anderson
3. Kirill Semyonov
4. Denis Malgin
5. Michael Amadio
6. Joshua Ho-Sang

Nobody really knows how this team is going to look like until training camp.

Bunting will be solid, not necessarily top 6 solid but I think in 82 games he could score around 20-25 goals. Kase is so hard to know because he is so injury prone, don't expect much from him imo. Why would you play Ritchie on the top line? I'd put Bunting or Robertson up there because those are two guys who are actually gifted in more than just goon-style play

The problem is that the Leafs are lacking a goon style of player in the top 6

They should have just traded for Uncle Leo and signed John Scott
