surely you can get more for rakell retained than a midget, a 14th forward, and a glorified 4th liner who is only mildly useful as a speedy PKer

edit: nvm it’s a leafs fan

mikheyev’s shot is quite possibly the worst in the league, to the point that as a flames fan, when i saw him with a breakaway (which happened a few times this year) I literally wasn’t scared at all, and he never converted it. Malgin probably tops out as a spare forward, he’s fine in a pinch on the 4th line but not an every day guy (at 24 he probably doesn’t have much more potential, if any). abruzzese is talented sure, but as a very small player who missed an entire year of development (and is now 22) that could very well put an end to his nhl hopes unless he really hits the ground running with the marlies next year (assuming he’s done in college, otherwise he’s still got a year of college and then a year in the ahl). he’s not a very high value piece right now. there’s really nothing interesting going to anaheim here, this wouldn’t even pay for the retention, let alone the player

Awful deal for Rackell. A bottom line forward an okay prospect and a depth piece.

Yes, if anybody gets moved, either during the rest of the off-season or at the trade deadline, these are the most likely four, but I don't think more than two of them will go.

I think they should probably move Rakell and Manson by the deadline, opportunity cost of hanging onto a cheap goal scoring 2nd line option and a top 4 RHD is too much for a rebuilding team, could likely get a 1st+ for both individually by the time the TDL rolls around (especially retained). See Foligno and Savard deals. If they dealt Lindholm it would have to be for a king’s ransom, I think he’s a guy at that age where you try to resign him to take the heavy minutes as you ease in your young talent, but he’d fetch the most. I’m not sold Shattenkirk gets moved until next year, if at all.

manson and rakell should go. lindholm either goes for an overpayment or resigned in my opinion. shattenkirk can wait or go
