Team: 2021-22 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 2, 2021
Published: Sep. 2, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
What I think the leafs should do:

Bunting-Matthews-Marner
Ritchie-Tavares-Nylander
Kerfoot-Brooks-Spezza/Robertson
Mikheyev-Kampf-Kase

Rielly-Brodie
Muzzin-Holl
Sandin-Liljegren/Dermott

Campbell
Mrazek

NOTES:
-Robertson and Spezza can rotate
-Simmonds and Gabriel can jump in for some punch if needed.
-Feel free to switch Ritchie/Kerfoot if something isn't clicking.
-Get Robertson time in the top-6
-Give Liljegren more ice time. I think he has made the jump over Dermott.
-If he signs, give Ho-Sang a shot in the top-6
-Give Kallgren a shot in the NHL

Why did you just give Vancouver a third for a guy who won't play again?

LTIR relief. Very valuable especially when you are a team against the cap.

Insults are probably against the rules, so i wont insult you., but you have no idea how LTIR works and i suggest you look into it. This is a moronic trade that has absolutely no positives. im also assuming you're like 12 years old.

People prob gonna get mad at me for saying this but I think Matthews and Marner should play on separate lines Marner can get Tavares going on that 2nd line and it’s also good to have two elite lines and spread out your best players.

Tomato said it best, you don't just get extra cap when someone goes on LTIR. Their cap counts against yours and you are allowed to exceed the cap by as much as their cap hit. Other factors are also a part of it that you should read into.

Stop with this nonsense. Matthews and Marner is arguably the 2nd best duo in the league after McDavid and Draisaitl. We should not split them up. Matthews won the Rocket this year while Marner finished 4th in the Art Ross race. Nylander and Tavares are fine together, they only struggled initially when they switched LW every single game and had to play with Vesey and Mikheyev until Galchenyuk came and stayed on the line for an extended period of time. You clearly have forgotten how hot JT and Willy ended the regular season. Nylander's last 14 GP of the regular season: 4G and 12A. JT's last 19 GP: 9G and 13A. Willy missed a few games due to covid protocol if you remember. My point is that it is not necessary at all to split them.
