4 2C options

Created by: BruinsFan35
Team: 2021-22 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 12, 2021
Published: Sep. 12, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I decided to go through each team that I thought may sell off at the deadline and see if they had any viable options for deadline additions. LMK if what I got wrong (or right) and who you'd like to see Boston target.
Trades
1.
BOS
  1. Schmaltz, Nick
Additional Details:
The first team is Arizona with Schmaltz. Given how much they've blown up their roster already, a Schmaltz trade may be next. Boston should be interested in a guy like him for their 2C spot.
ARI
  1. DeBrusk, Jake
  2. Moore, John
  3. 2022 1st round pick (BOS)
  4. 2023 2nd round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
DeBrusk, 2022 1st, and a late round pick/ low-end prospect is where I'd value a 2C trade, and I think all of the players I've listed could be valued similarly. I then upgraded the late pick to a second to balance out taking on John Moore, who would need to be moved to balance the cap.
2.
BOS
  1. Granlund, Mikael
Additional Details:
Nashville will only sell off if they fail to perform as well as they did last year. I don't particularly like their roster, so I figure it may be a possibility.
NSH
    DeBrusk, Moore, 2022 1st, 2023 2nd
    3.
    BOS
    1. Wennberg, Alexander
    Additional Details:
If Seattle sucks early in the year, I'd expect them to move a good amount of their players for younger options that came with picks/prospects.
    SEA
Same package as the other two
      4.
      BOS
      1. Domi, Max
      Additional Details:
This trade only happens if Domi somewhat bounces back and is on a similar point pace as the other three

Doubt AZ trades their 1C, Grandlund & Wennberg just signed multi year deals so doubt they get moved, and Domi isn't really a C. Forgot Hertl

Bruins reject all of those. You are severely undervaluing Debrusk still, but its not awful.

I mean, Domi is fine as a 2C. He started looking good the last half of last season.

That being said, this feels like an overpay. For all of these guys except Schmaltz. Granlund and Wennberg are both vastly overpaid and on bad contracts. Domi is a rental, and would have to go back to the 70+ point pace to get anywhere near justifying this price. I’m optimistic for him to bounce back, but not that optimistic.

Only interesting one is Schmaltz. The rest are not C2s. And Schmaltz has his fleas as well. I think he’s good top 6 center on a bad team, on a contender…meh, his game not built for playoffs. Very similar to Domi. Soft, bad faceoff stats, below average defensively.

Granlund is my favorite of the bunch but he’s better off at wing.

They are not really upgrades over what exists.
