Why would you bury guys like Matt Martin and Eric Fehr? They both have playoff experince those are guys you keep in your line up. They're the ones who know what kind of gritty hockey play it takes to go far

I love grit, heart, experience etc., still doesn't make those players more impactful on winning than any of the guys I have in this lineup. It boosts their value a lot, but still not good enough

Sorry but no. These are horrible lines and you need to really learn what the players on the team can do before you make these changes. Martin brings veteran leadership and fear to the team and makes teams fearful to hit the team you've now filled with small rookies. Polak is one of the only aggressive defenseman we have and Marchenko - although still young - also brings a really strong edge to the game they play and make it difficult for the opponent to enter the zone. If you're trying to win a game just off players who can deke and skate fast, maybe look at how last night's game against the Kings went. Yeah we got off to a strong start, but they learned half way through the game how to slow us down, imagine a 7 game series. They need players who will knock guys down and throw their bodies around to grind down the opponent, not young forwards who have no NHL experience when going into the playoffs.

Maybe they keep coughing up leads because once they get ahead Babcock starts leaning on his gritty leadership guys who actually suck at playing hockey (Hunlack, Martin, etc).... you can never have too much skill. Did Chicago and Pittsburg grit their way to stanley cups? No, they just simply played talented hockey players

They also had players of grit... Fehr (who you have sent down) Daley, Cullen, etc. Your argument is invalid and this line you would want to ice, for 1 would not make the playoffs and 2 if they did would get swept.

As you know, I'm a Leaf fan. But I don't think Babcock will be have to worry about a playoff lineup this spring.frown
