Way too much to give for a lottery bound team to give up for Eichel who might not even play this year, . Just keep those five good assets, and spend 10m on UFA next season.

Say you do hit the lottery in 2022, what happens to the pick? Generally it’s pushed back a year, but what if we already end up getting that pick?

I’d say it’s reasonably unlikely that both cases happen, but if I’m the Sabres, I’d probably accept this trade. It sets us up extremely well long term given our current pipeline, we will be able to churn out quality prospects.

Agreed. Don’t think it will go like this, but one thing is for sure, it will most definitely be full of conditions.

Honestly after all the extensions this off-season and young talent still needing re-signed, I don’t think they could really afford Eichel without giving up someone like Texier and/or Roslovic, plus more of course.
