Not really. He’s mediocre. He’s an upgrade over Forbort but not enough to make that trade. The picks are more valuable than adding yet another #4 type defenseman. Have enough 0f them already.

Did not say he wasn’t. Still mediocre and not enough of an upgrade for Boston to do this. Reilly is better puck mover which is needed. Forbort excels on the PK which is needed.

Trading draft capital for a B-/C+ rental d man who struggled last year, to replace a C- or D+ d man with term is pointless. No. He does not make a bit of difference to Boston barring injuries. I understand the logic but It does not work for Boston no matter how much you want it to. The draft assets are more valuable to them then a minor upgrade. Maybe that’s different if Chiarot rebounds and Forbort falls on his face, for now it’s a hold.
