This isn’t my acgm, I certainly don’t think he’s worth that. The sharks have been trying to trade him since they signed his awful contract like a year ago and have had no takers. I would take a bag of chips in return for him.

I don't know. The fact that it's an extension, let alone an extension + a prospect, should make it a deal for New York.

1. Rangers aren't going to trade 2 young players and a first round pick for Hertl. If they were to do this trade it would be one of the players and the first round pick. 2. Hertl does not fit in their salary structure assuming he gets $7M+ on his next contract as the Rangers have to pay Fox, Laffy and Kakko in short order.
