Team: 2021-22 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 26, 2021

Description
Bowman is finally gone, good. Now a true rebuild can begin by letting go of Kane and Toews, they need to join contenders. Flowers obviously as well. Johnson is likely unmoveable but buy him out in the offseason. Let's let these younger guys play and see what they've got. De Haan, Carps, Khaira all move on in the offseason as well. Lowry can be traded as well. Time for a full rebuild on the heals of Cat, Kubs, Dach, Reichel, Lankinen.

Who brought him over? Answer: Stan Bowman

I don’t get how any of this connects to Panarin when he had no ties to the team in 2010. Kane was on that team.

Hard to say what is hearsay, locker room banter, and truth. That said, we're also walking about a 21 year old players at that time in Kane and Toews...kids...what are they supposed to do? They weren't the leaders of the team they are now. Not excusable entirely but to put that responsibility on kids when there are plenty of older statesmen on the team and of course the coaches and front office would be silly.

based on the report, the player who was on the ice saying homophobic slurs to the player that was being assaulted...that probably is a start of what they shouldn't be doing

Point is he was recruited to Chicago by a handful of the guys who were responsible for the scandal. Just like Kane.
The players had nothing to do with the circumstances you fear connections to.

So he is damned by connection. I don’t want Kane cause I see no point in acquiring another expensive veteran who’s already in there 30s for a long shot chance at making the playoffs. This isn’t 2014-2015 when we were making deep runs in the playoffs and could’ve used a piece to bolster the lineup. We are far from that.

I’m looking at the trade from the perspective of where the Rangers currently are. Kane alone is not getting them to the playoffs. They are fundamentally still developing and no where near a contender. Why would we then trade a young forward with the 2nd highest potential for Kane who’s well into his 30s? At that point what the hell was the point of rebuilding. It makes no logical sense for the Rangers.

Rangers are closer then I think you think. Kane is not regressing either, his game is not very physical and should be able to play into his early 40s much like Ovy and he is also known for how well he trains year round. I think this revolves around a 2 or 3 year extension in which case Kane does make sense. At only $6M this season and next and $5M or $6M for another couple years...that's 4 seasons and the Rangers should be competing in the timeline if not next year.

Who was the player? Was that validated by multiple reports or just the accuser? Point is, saying a couple 21 year olds were responsible and had a loud voice on a team with veteran players is kind of unfair to assume

So for a maybe shot of the playoffs and hope that Kane doesn’t regress. I’m good. Kane ≠ Playoffs or Cup. The center position is still thin. We’ve got zero depth scoring presently. Half our defense core is hot garbage. Unless we expect Shesterkin to steal every damn game I’ve got a hard time seeing us making the playoffs in the Metro.

That was not the reason why you didn't want Kane. At least not when we first started out conversation. Your explanation was this:

I don’t want really anything from the Blackhawks org after today even if it helped to win. Beyond disgraceful.

its in the report my man, stop saying rumours and hearsay, this was an in-depth report with a 136 witnesses called,
and 2 ex players Sopel and Boyton form that team confirmed they knew of the events at the time.

Well I get the perspective for sure. Also know Panarin and Kane are very good friends to this day. Also don't think Kane waives for anywhere besides Buffalo or NYR, maybe another big US stage perhaps.

I said I didn’t want anything to do with the Blackhawks today. I also don’t think Kane is a fit for where the Rangers currently are. Both of those statements can be true. I never addressed the trade at first.

Uh, depth scoring has really been our only source scoring (Rooney, Goodrow, etc) outside of Kreider but alright. Guys like Zibanejad and Panarin aren't scoring as much as expected yet (but Zibanejad has at least created a lot of scoring chances). Kakko-Goodrow-Blais is also definitively thinner than Zibanejad-Strome-Chytil.

I get it was in the report, but keep in mind, there is a lot in the report with a lot of conflicting stories as well; nobody knows the exact truth. Again, the point is Kane or Toews are not called out in the report as using homophobic slurs to said player on the ice, so to hold a 21 year old player responsible is silly with all the adults in the front office, behind the bench, and veterans on the ice. We live in a culture of everyone is guilty aka cancel culture. I would be careful holding Toews or Kane even partially responsible as such simply by association of being the team.

I don’t see how that helps the case that we are close to playoff ready. The team isn’t great. It’d be different if they weren’t scoring but outplaying teams, but they literally are being outplayed each game and have only won with goaltending.

dude, are you really trying to discredit what multiple people have all collaborated to being true and in facts these accounts were known. This isnt cancel culture, this is a cover up of sexual assault

There were adults, being 21 doesnt mean you get to say I didnt know nay better when you are being pulled over for. DUI, etc etc. They are all full grown ass men at this time

Last time I checked a 21 year is an adult that can speak up. It’s not like they were minor role players, they were star players. The fact they didn’t speak up says volumes to the awful culture of that team that put winning over basic human decency.

All other things aside, who makes the team better on the ice the next 2 years....Kane or Kappo? Think that is pretty self explanatory with Kane. Who makes the team better in the next 4 years on the ice...that is arguable but hardly clear.

If the Rangers where were the Islanders are in terms of team development and winning it’d make sense, but they aren’t, that’s the point.

the hawks have been a disgrace with this who ordeal...systematic covering up, lying, denying, then that stunt they pulled at draft day with brining out women to make the pick to use as pawns in a message that they were some sort of equal rights org now.

in no way does anyone get a free pass,

I don’t see why not wanting anything to do with the personnel from that 2010 team team is such a bad thing. They literally were part of the entire damn coverup that led to more people being assaulted. That **** ain’t right.
