Not a single team accepts. The COL trade is awful for them.

I’ve been chewing on the idea of making changes as well. If this is the route taken, then I would add Gallagher and Petry.

I would also give a look to pezzetta and baddock. I learned the hard way that you always need 1 and ideally 2 fourth line wingers that can bang and crash but also drop the gloves once in a while. I’m not talking about goons, that era has passed.

I watch a lot of AHL hockey as I scout and those two are efficient and keep everyone honest. Pezzetta is surprisingly very good on the PK. The question is can one or both transfer their AHL success to the NHL? That’s a good question, that needs an answer.

I wouldn’t want Gallagher going anywhere else, ever. If he’s injured, he’s on LTIR and we can replace his salary. If he’s healthy, he’s among the most valuable hockey players in the entire league, everything considered. Anyways, fwiw, that’s my two cents on him.

Pezzetta is my sleeper pick for first call-up as well. Gonna be interesting to see how patient Bergevin ends up being.
I think we will look a lot better once Edmundson stabilizes the top pairing though.

I’ve always liked Gallagher but if it’s decided to move players out, I would consider it for the proper return. Proper chairs in hockey is so vital for success. Caufield will eventually get going. Anderson is vital for his size, hitting. Toffoli is a better sniper than gally. Armia. The problem is MTL has 1 too many RW’s. So which one goes? Plus Ylonen will be an nhl player in a year or two.

One of those RW’s has to go.

Caps have no need for Wideman, except perhaps as an 8th defenseman ahead of Irwin. Not really a need in DC right now.

Trade deadline depth was the idea. Minimum salary for a guy who would fit your style of play well, I think.

not a bad idea, i just don't think it makes sense for DC since they probably would be sending him to the AHL. WSH rarely carries 2 d scratches, and I assume Cholo beats him out for 7th D. I think WSH makes a move like this, but for offensive depth if they aren't confident in Pilon, Sgarbossa, etc to get the job done.

TB had $712 cap space and that's with sending ABB, cleasson and sustr to Syracuse so the turn down both

1) It’s the trade deadline
2) You’ll likely have LTIR space

Chiarot > Savard

If not Tampa, then a team like Tampa would likely pay a return similar to this if he’s playing well come the deadline.

Good luck I know it has him as Ld/rd but Savard is a RHS TB doesn't need another LHS D-MAN already had the best trio of left side d-men in the league

How would a Mack and Drouin réunion be awful especially with the fact that Drouin is the only guy who showed up this year

Oh really, let me count the ways 1) Drouin wouldn’t play with MacK he isn’t remotely close to being as good as Mikko or Landy 2) Drouin doesn’t play defense, has no desire to back check and if the dude were drafted outside the top 10 people would be talking incessantly about how over paid he is 3) The Avs don’t have the cap space to just add a contract like that 4) that’s a massive over pay for a guy that has neither scored 30 goals in a season or 60 pts 5) the whole narrative of them reuniting is preposterous they last played almost a decade ago, I mean for ffs maybe MacK’s winger from Shattuck’s is available too 6) It is an awful trade
