If Vegas is the team that trades for Jack Eichel

If Buffalo succeeds in acquiring the equivalent value of these 4 assets for Jack Eichel,

Buffalo wins.

If Buffalo fails in acquiring the equivalent value of these 4 assets for Jack Eichel,

Buffalo loses.

If it is unclear, but possible, that the return on Jack Eichel is equivalent in value to these 4 assets,

It's a fair trade.

Those are my own personal rules with regards to a blockbuster trade for Eichel for voting on Capfriendly's "Who won the trade?"
Trades
1.
VGK
On this side, these are the players that Buffalo can try trading for and that are free of any trade protection as of the 2021-2022 NHL Season.

Once a player is acquired, his contract is acquired as well.

    Reilly Smith
    Alex Tuch
    Chandler Stephenson
    Mattias Janmark
    William Carrier
    Nolan Patrick
    Brett Howden
    Jake Leschyshyn
    Nicolas Roy
    Sven Baertschi
    Keegan Kolesar

    Shea Theodore
    Brayden McNabb
    Nicolas Hague
    Dylan Coghlan
    Zach Whitecloud

    Laurent Brossoit
    BUF
On this side, you have prospects that I think would all qualify as each having the value of a first round pick or greater.

For the purposes of this post, a prospect is anyone who is still on an ELC or is on the reserve list.

      Peyton Krebs
      Brendan Brisson
      Zach Dean
      2.
      VGK
      1. Eichel, Jack
      Additional Details:
As far back as July, if not earlier ...

Buffalo Sabres GM Kevyn Adams has specifically asked for the equivalent of ...

      2 NHL Players + 2 Top Prospects/First Round Picks ...

      in value for Jack Eichel.

That was at least 3 months ago.

The team that trades for Eichel would also need to send a sizeable contract to Buffalo.

Because Buffalo needs to stay above the floor and has openly refused to retain any salary on Eichel whatsoever.

No consideration to injury, market pressure, or to a lesser degree his attitude.

Eichel needing to get moved while still being injured really hinders a team's ability to gamble 4 first round picks whether that's what they want for him or not.

Of course they could just keep him and he could not play, but where's the value in that?

What has he asked for exactly then?

The answer I'm looking for is a numeric value.

Something that can be quantified or that is "a number on something".

2 roster forwards and 2 1st round picks is an example of "a number on something".

      Something that is fluff ...

like in the form of "the best return possible" or "a return that is good for the Buffalo Sabres" ...

is a non-answer and will not receive a like from me awesome face

yes, though i think theyd like one of the nhlers to be a bit younger

if the price dropped that much from what I've heard from NHL insiders last summer, it most likely means that Eichel doesnt give BUF a whole lot of options with him NMC

I have said this before, I would do Tuch, Brisson, 2022 first and second for Jack.
Most Sabre fans would say not enough, but this would give the Sabres 5 picks among the first two rounds and Tuch will not add to the team so they could keep their hopes alive for a lottery pick.
