Not sure why the Caps would think about trading Mantha with that return. They gave up a young top 6 guy and a first to get him

Okay. I edited in picks and a prospect to WSH. Thank you.

Or maybe knock it down to Oshie in the first deal? I really don't know what WSH would/wouldn't consider, but I think two top-six wings for one, in the same cap space, is a win-now trade. If Backstrom and Oshie should be back to full strength by the playoffs, then there might be some version that could help Washington, even though I agree Mantha>>Dadonov or Smith

      Buffalo gets:
Mantha, Anthony and Tuch, Alex two RW would fit into the line up very nicely and are the main pieces of this trade and are worth nearly 4 first round picks.
Elvenes, Whitecloud, Hague, and Brisson of the four prospects only the last two appear to be certain of an NHL future. The other two are projects and I doubt there is a spot for Hague in the line up this year or in the future.
While Buffalo does not have a top center this could be a very good team next year:
      Skinner Cozens Mantha
      Olofsson Mittelstadt Tuch
      Bjork Brisson Thompson
Girgensons (any number of options) Okposo
That could be 4 wingers with a total of 120 goals and hopefully three #2 centers.
Of course Dahlin would need to learn how to play defense and make less risky plays
I cannot speak for the Vegas nor Washington but I would be all in on this deal as a Sabre's fan.

In another thread, a Vegas fan asked how Vegas gets through this year, with this team, with weak depth at RW until Patrick breaks out playing with Karlsson, and with weak depth at center until Eichel gets back.

4th to STL for Brown. 1st to Ari for Boyd and a 50% retained Kessel. Send other guys down and the cap should just barely work. Then, when healthy, top lines could go to:

      Patches, Eichel, Stone
      March, Patrick, Kessell
      Three Swedes
      Goons/prospects

      Better?
