I mean, this line up looks like a back to back cup winner. I would take the 2 cups in a heartbeat over hoping thses kids become elite faster than they are on pace for. Part of our issue is that these kids will be secondary scoring to us when Bread/Zib/Kreids are here. So maybe they get better chances on the new teams while we acquire "win now" players. Even after Kane is gone we still have some great talent left over

Yeah, kaprizov is untouchable as their is for Minnesota. Nothing gets you kaprizov from Minnesota, like Nothing. & you think Minnesota retain? Kaprizov is face of Minnesota and is damn good. Laughable.

Gretzky isn't the current face of hockey, that would be McDavid. Yeah wild are going to trade their face of franchise, who is amazing, and sell tickets, make all the sense in the world. Kaprizov is why Minnesota got outdoor new year's game this year. A player who just also signed 5 year extension isn't just an opinion, it's a fact.

Oh, maybe you don’t realize these are hypothetical posts haha..

Eichel, face of BUF-traded

Anyways, while I don’t actually think this deal would happen. Don’t be so stupid to think that’s not a decent package. Keep up the good trolling pal, loads of fun

No wild fan is trading kaprizov, no Matt what you think. No one says it's not a good package. Just stating that kaprizov can't be had, that's a fact. Never said it's not a good package but hey go to name calling because you want kaprizov and can't seem to be aware of who kaprizov is to Minnesota, wild. So before calling someone stupid, think about how ignorant you are to wild, or who kaprizov had become

You felt that my post was insulting and “laughable”. This can only mean you don’t think there’s good value there or else I could assume you would approach the reply with “while this is a tempting package, I wouldn’t want to lose Kap so I’d say no to this deal”. Can you see the difference between your original comment which comes off as nothing but trolling vs a sensible response saying it’s not for you? I could completely understand not wanting to lose him even with his 1 goal in 9 games this year, and with a civil response I’d think you have your head on your shoulders.

I'd trade anyone for the right deal. The truth of the matter is 4 of this 5 years of Kaprizov's contract MN is going to be junk. The genius of the GM has killed he cap with buyouts overpays in contracts. $42m is tied up in 4 players + buyouts.

Dumba is gone in 2 years. Fiala is gone next year. Both are going to be cap casualties.

Dumba was given the "A" so it could be given to one of the kids in 2 seasons as they grow into more of a leadership role. No more of the same 3 guys wearing letters for a decade.

Interesting proposal... I'm not going into the values but Minny can't afford the retention. We have 15 million in dead cap the next few seasons, and it would be stupid to make it 17 million.

If Ken Holland called up Guerin and said McDavid demanded a trade to Minnesota or he's retiring and Holland was only willing to take Kaprizov in return, Kirill would be on the next flight to Edmonton. Guerin has said numerous times he's open to any trade that will make the Wild better; ANY trade. A player's NMC is the only thing stopping him from trading someone if the deal makes sense to him. Dumba, Foligno, Hartman, Erickson Ek... all are available if the other team offers the right deal. They'd need to be stupid overpayments in most cases, but these guys aren't untouchable like you keep saying.

Who are the overpayments he's made? Spurgeon, Brodin, and Ek are all what they would have gotten on the open market. Your boy Fenton would have given them those deals for sure, look at what he gave Zucc because Kessel wouldn't come here and he was desperate to sign a player. The buyouts were money that was going to be spent anyhow on Parise being a healthy scratch. You could argue Suter was a mistake from cap management but we'll see what kinda player Suter is in 2-3 years before we'll know.

Spurgeon would not be on the team, Fenton would have traded him. The team also would have been setup for a 7-3-1 in the expansion draft. Kaprizov would probably still be on his ELC this year (GMBG burned a year for nothing).

Suter needs to be a 6/7D for the next 4 years to be a better use of cap than buying him out. Parise will be LTIR(etire) by next year.

You honestly think the guy who panicked and offered Zuccarello an extra year was going to trade away a top-pairing defenseman? Or do anything different on Kaprizov? Really? lol

Ffs his staff had to convince him to not ADD to the Granlund/Fiala trade. lol

It wasn't a secret that Fenton wasn't interested in keeping Spurgeon. Spurgeon is an adv stats darling that's it. Fenton wasn't an adv stats guy.

Why would you burn a year of Kaprizov's ELC for absolutely no reason? It was a dumb move.

You're trying to compare a year too long on Zucc's deal to 4 years too long on Spurgeon's deal. I'll take that Zucc contract 10 times out of 10 over Spurgeon's deal. Seriously Surgeon's deal was OEL bad when it was signed.

No, I'm comparing making stupid moves out of desperation. Fenton would have kept Spurgeon because there was no one to replace him and he would have given Kaprizov whatever just to get him over. Fenton wasn't a good deal maker. You're also assuming Parise would have just quietly went on LTIR and no retired because he was mad they reduced his role.

Parise is already having back problems this year... Even if Parise just retired the recapture would be less than what the buyouts are. It also wouldn't be the extra 4 years of dead money.

Spurgeon signed a contract that was top-10 in the league for d-men before the season even started. He's been the 3rd or 4th best d-man on the team since the contract was inked. Fenton doesn't do that. He wasn't even really trying talking to Spurgeon about a new contract when he was fired. Guerin basically gave Spurgeon a blank check to sign.

You're delusional man. 3rd or 4th best dman since he signed the deal? Who's better? I'd agree Brodin for sure. Dumba? Suter? Not by anything you can measure except for height so I guess that's enough for you? lol

As for the Parise buyout, unless you can find me something different, the last CBA changed it where the retirement cap recapture becomes long but is still the same amount and can't exceed their cap hit per year. That's sure as hell not better than the buyout. lol

Suter has been better every year. Dumba was also better for most of the year last year.

On what metric? Height isn't a valid metric for the record.
