Dahlin has been fine, Butcher was terrible and bringing down Dahlin. Theres like 4 whiny Sabre fans who dont know what to do with themselves now that they cant make Eichel trades. Plus the Sabres arent trying to improve this year

In last nights game there were several shifts where he was just standing around. He seems to always lose puck battles against the wall and gets pushed around.

Not saying he’s a bad player, I just don’t think he fits right now. We all know they need to get another LD at the deadline. If they take Reilly’s 3mil plus the rest of the cap space, they are in great shape to get a top guy.

I thought he looked fine last night, not great, par for what he is. Just looking at the game log via NaturalStatTrick

FF% - 72.2 (best among d-men)
SF% - 75.0 (2nd best on team)
xGA - 0.37 (right in line with Grz & McAvoy)

He's going to get pushed around because he's not an overly big LD or does he play a physical game. He relies on stick positioning to play defense. Its been 9-10 games in and the B's schedule as been so screwed up that its tough to really judge these guy on these first 9-10 games. I think he's a redundant player and ideal would be on the 3rd pairing though.

Sweeney had his opportunity to revamp LD this offseason and he chose Forbort and Reilly on 3 X 3's. Don't forget Zboril, Moore and Vaak, all acquired by DS. You want him to keep trying figuring he will get it right sooner or later? Don't count on it. Along with Grzelcyk you are looking at the LD for the next three years. End of story.
