I love Elias and I think this is definitely a fair offer but I want to build this slowly and build a young core around the next few years of picks we make and I’d rather keep that leverage over Chicago.

Yeah fair enough. I like your guys team and prospects, part of the reason I wanted to send Petey there haha.

I don't think it's that far off in value but fair enough. You guys seem to love Newhook.

Coleman was worth a first at the deadline in a similar situation, cheap contract for 1.5 years so I think it's reasonable for Miller to be a first + good prospect as he's much better than Coleman.

Newhook is going to be a stud. TB overpaid for Coleman because of his contract and their cap situation neither of which apply to COL.

The contract applies. Miller with 50% retained is an absolute bargain of a contract, probably better value than Coleman.

Not better than elite prospect on an elc under team control for the next 7 years. Newhook is untouchable outside of an elite C like Eichel and that bot sailed.

Further proof all fans on here blow their prospects way out of proportion. A 20 year old who has yet to stick with the club is far from an elite prospect worth a guy like Eichel.

No Newhook is regularly rated as one of the absolute best prospects and did I say it was one for one? Newhook is better than Krebs who was the biggest part of the Eichel trade, but just further proof some fans don’t understand context at all.

The Eichel trade is different. A) he has a major injury B) he wanted out big time C) Buffalo wrecked themselves from the get go. Newhook is going to be a good player but I would temper your expectations.

A 2c that is a 60pt player? Considering he has produced at a ppg level everywhere he has been, has a very solid all around game was the NCAA frosh of the yr over caulfield, Turcotte, Boldy and has been over a ppg in the AHL till his call up and assist last night. Yeah no. Do I expect it right away, no. Are the Avs going to trade him for a 28yr old w/only 2 yrs left on his deal. No.

I wouldn't say 60pt 2C potential is "one of the absolute best prospects." He's no Seider/Byram/Wright etc

A 60 point 2C is hardly an elite prospect.

Before the start of last season he was rated as the 9th best prospect in the NHL. Regardless the Avs aren’t trading Newhook for Miller.

Amen.

Since Green has come on board, they get scored on first more often than not, outshot more often than not, their line changes are a disaster, and with the exception of the bubble year, their special teams have underachieved. They most often look woefully unprepared most nights.

Where is the team we saw in that outstanding 5 minutes against Nashville? Why won't they play like that with consistency for Green?

Every night is pretty much the same; come out sluggish, chase the play, take a penalty and fall behind 1-0. It doesn't take a genius to know that if you give up the first goal, percentages dictate that you are going to lose that game. It's been that way for over 100 freaking years in the NHL.

There are no excuses now. He has the talent. Are they supposed to throw away another year of this young core for this guy? FIRE THE COACH.
