I would swap Backlund for Monahan but sharks don't appear to be moving Hertl.

Prefer Monahan vastly over Backlund. Backlund ruins this deal.

Zary is pretty good imo. Backlund is the problem for me.

Zary projects to a solid middle 6 center and has the potential to be very good, and the 1st is nice but Backlund kills the deal.
if he was 2 years younger or his contract 2 year shorter i would consider.

I feel as though Hertl with an extension is worth much more. Like others here not a fan of Backlund here. This is the asking without an extension at his point.

Our best hope is a few picks and a high end prospect that could be a top 6 sooner than later.
truth is the last few trades have set the market and yes we have the best available player at the deadline but he is a rental unless he comes with an extension. were not getting what everyone thinks we are unless we also take back a cap dump as well.
I could see Monahan Lucic, Zary and 2- 1sts for Hertl but do we want that trade?
