Although I like Sergachev, the Canucks aren't in a position to give up a 1st rounder for the third season in a row, their prospect pool is terrible and they're still not likely a playoff team.
Vancouver is also fairly set at the LD position for the foreseeable future.

Ottawa declines.

You are asking Ottawa to retain 50% on Connor Brown and to only get half of what Tampa gave New Jersey for Blake Coleman.

Go fleece some other team.

Canucks have no real use for Sergachev especially at that price

Yeah. I thought so but I've seen a few Canucks fans asking about him so thought I'd have a look.

Furthermore, neither Ottawa nor any team for that matter, will be spending 6th round pick on ABB.

He was placed on waivers twice within the last month and Ottawa refused to claim him before Tampa could the second time.

The value for Serg is pretty fair IMO and if the Canucks weren't a tire fire this season I would def do it.

Ottawa only passed on him once. Tampa had first dibs the second time but you have a point.

How about now? I think I'm close to overpaying a little now but I've seen more of Joseph than I have of Brown.

I don't think we need to force any deadline moves. If someone is injured and allows us to add without subtracting then sure, but I don't think these moves get us any closer to a 3peat.

I'm bored Coops.
Hypotherically, what if we did trade Sergy.

Bored? We only have 1 day between games this time rather than the 3-4 days we've been having lol.

Hypothetically trading Sergachev is a good question though. We wouldn't trade him for an expiring contract since that would be bad asset management. Our best chance at a solid return would probably be pick(s) and a solid prospect, but neither of those get us closer to winning this year. Maybe pluck Terry from Anaheim if they don't think Lindholm will be sticking around after the season? Another year on his deal and still RFA.

A lot better and definitely worth considering.

I genuinely believe this is a competitive offer for Connor Brown smile

Value is fair/pretty close

I guess it depends what their plan would be for Connor Brown. Do they plan on extending him? Because they need him for the present and future

But if the Sens trade him, how about you keep Joseph and the first and give us Sergachev (since you are trading him) instead? Of course we would add

To Ottawa

Sergachev, Mikhail

To Tampa Bay

Connor Brown (50% rtained)
Nick Paul
2022 2nd round pick (TBL)

What else would you need? Erik Brannstrom?

Giving up Sergachev to fit him in would be a major loss though.

I have no idea why the OP is trading Sergachev (future cap concerns?). My comment to you was not necessarily related to my other comment. The initial idea was to acquire Brown with futures but if Tampa is trading Sergachev, might as well be the ones paying to get him

Nevermind damn, he's not a righty and they are so stubborn that they wouldn't play him on RD

To be honest. The idea was to have a line of Brown Cirelli Podkolzin.

If I took too much off the top 6 then those three would get bumped up. There's not enough value in the bottom 6 to get them. Didn't want to move Cernak or Heddy. McDonagh wouldn't get it done.

So Sergy.

I don't think he's getting moved any time soon but the fun of fantasy acgms are you can move "not going anywhere" players to see what different lineups would look like Sticking Out Tongue
