Not really into Petry tbh. Wings aren't poised to be buyers at the deadline, and Jeff hasn't looked like himself so far this season. Not selling off Veleno for that, so I'd have to say no.

Also, look into how much Allen was traded to the Habs for. Not saying it's a bad deal, just that there's a precedent set for it.
(Hint: It's much less than a third)

Not interested in Gally for Monahan. That contract will not age well

Sooo in your mind after a player is traded once, his value is now that for the rest of his career?

No, I'm just saying that he was traded for two sevenths only a year ago, and since then he hasn't played in any way that would increase his value. Could even argue he's played a little worse since the trade, in fact.

For the record, MTL sent the Blues a 3rd and 7th round pick in exchange for Allen and a 7th. So technically, Allen was traded for a 3rd pick which is what is shown above. Now while Allen is not a true #1 goalie, the way MTL has played when he's in nets, you can't fault for every goal or loss. On a high octane team like Colorado with great d-man, he could actually thrive in that setting. Let's keep in mind that his numbers were great in his last season with the Blues. He'd be a great back for a contender team without goalie depth.

Hockey Reference must've completely jacked up his trade then, it doesn't include a third and has both sevenths as the return for Allen lol

Wings have no use for Petry. We have Hronek and Sieder and Wings need a center more

You are absolutely right, I think he would be good a couple of years but soon going downhill

Yeah and I think he's the best backup in the league. He's not a number one, but when he's in the good chair with not much pressure he delivers like a number one. You can't really have a better backup goalie.
