Dobson

Created by: BigShoots
Team: 2021-22 Vancouver Canucks
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 23, 2021
Published: Nov. 23, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
With Pulock and Mayfield on the right side the isles can afford to move Dobson. They get back a top end LD prospect in Rathbone and of course Miller for a playoffs push. Canucks get the young RD they need and Beauvillier makes the cap work and is another young player they can build with.

Mayfield is a 3rd pairing D, they cannot afford to trade Dobson lol. Beauvillier is not going anywhere either, he’s a core player for the isles and he’s young. Isles can’t afford to trade a young top 6 forward.

No they definitely can not afford to move him. Mayfield is a good 3rd pair defenseman that can move up to the 2nd pair if needed to. He is not a bonafide top 4 guy.

How's that? Miller is a huge upgrade on Beau. Dobson is a slight upgrade on Rathbone. Kinda fits team needs better too in that Rathbone could run the pp in the future. Not sure Dobson is that guy at the NHL le level. Canucks get worse but they get younger and address the need at RD.

i like miller a lot. but beau’s a young, cheap player on a very old team and dobson is currently an nhl player at a position they have literally no one in the pipeline for. they do have an LD prospect who’s projected to be an nhl player, and rathbone’s a worse prospect than dobson. if the islanders picked up nemec at this year’s draft maybe i’d think about it but otherwise no.

Miller isn't old. And Rathbone fits the club better being LD. Beauvillier I added more for the cap numbers. He really isn't that good by the numbers, his contract seems a bit high even. Does he have intagibles or what?

beau’s a great, high energy winger who was on pace for 20+ goals in the last two shortened seasons and his underlying numbers are stellar. he’s a great player. if you want someone just for the cap, take bailey. rathbone doesn’t fit the club better as an LD because they don’t have any RD in the pipeline who are even close to being nhl players to replace dobson.

20 goal energy guy is nice but hardly a huge piece especially at the cap hit. The right side you have Pulock, Dobson, Mayfield the left you have Pelech and what Chara? Seems weaker on that side unless there are players I don't know about.

Beauvillier is worth well over 5 mill. He’s a fringe top line winger . I wouldn’t trade Beauvillier for Miller straight up

The isles have Pelech and Robin Salo on the left side. Dobson is better than Rathbone and it isn’t close.

Hes playing worse this yr. Being up Miller's card. He's gonna be much better. Dobson is better than Rathbone by about as much as Miller is better than Beau.

Beauvillier is not playing worse this year. He’s been the isles best two way forward. Rathbone will be a decent 2nd pairing D, Dobson will be a #1 defenseman. The isles would laugh at this trade proposal

You're speaking of a guy who has 3 goals in 15 games as if he is McDavid. I get that you don't want to make this trade but the way you speak about the values isn't in line with reality. JT Miller has 19 points this season. Beauvillier has 7. I get that he's a nice player. Miller is a game breaker. The real reason I proposed the deal to be fair was to get Dobson as we need a RD more than anything. I see Dobson as a no.2 certainly could become a no.1 as well but likely a no.2, I see Rathbone as a no. 3 who could be a pp specialist. More than anything I put Beauvillier in the trade to make the cap work. The only other reasonable contract to eat is Clutterbuck.

Beauvillier is a top 6 forward and is younger than Miller. Dobson is untouchable , it doesn’t matter if Vancouver needs a RD. The islanders are not trading a 6’4 Two way D with elite skating ability for a year and a half of JT Miller.

This is a reasonable argument. Beauvillier was not.
