Description

There is a report out there, i believe it was Larry Brooks, saying a Eastern conference team is interested in Kane.

I am not a expert on the Canes but I think Kane would put the over the top in the playoffs as a cup contender. Kane would show up far more than Nino, and they wouldn't have to struggle to resign him.
Canes have shown they are not afraid to take gambles on locker room cancers, Tony D.
I'll put this up for discussion.

Canes are one of if not the best team in the league with a great locker room. Why screw it up for a cancer?

If the sharks buy Kane out, I could see the canes signing him to a 1x1 contract under the same conditions that DeAngelo is under. DeAngelo also is performing this season, whereas Kane has not played a single game. Nino is also very likely not returning next year unless he takes a massive discount. Plus, Nino is better defensively than Kane. But under no circumstances will the canes trade for Kane with the contract that he has. With that contract, SJ will have to pay to get rid of him. Canes keep Nino and don’t bother with Kane unless SJ buys him out. No team is going to be trading more than a cap dump for Kane as long as he has the contract he currently has.

1. Evander Kane is toxic waste. Acquire at your own risk.

2. Salary retention is a one-way street in this case and it won't be Carolina that does it.

3. I doubt Carolina is on Evander's list of 3 teams.

I agree but to me the Canes are a little soft for a cup team. It is risky, but with all the recent drama I bet Kane is well behaved for at least a year or two.
