I think Kase will stick around for less as he came to play with Kampf, and they have both been better than advertised. Give Kampf the Kase contract after he's deal is up

horrible return for Muzzin, then you turn around and spend most of his cash on a worse defender in Manson. And Mrazek would 100% get more that in a trade, let alone the fact that the leafs would now not have a viable back up

Shouldnt and cant trade Muzzin (NTC), plus Amirov is going to be a horse, and he is closer to the NHL than people give him credit for

If they went 4 years on Sandin/Liljegren, wouldn't that give them the fastest route to UFA?
Maybe bridge them on 2-3 year deals, then extend. Or just give them long-term now.

I'll give the author credit for making a rare cap compliant Leafs team. But geez lots of holes in the process.
Is 3.875m Mrazek tradable without cap being returned? Muzzin has NTC, can't see him leaving the Leafs.
A horrible exchange trading 2m Holl and 3.5m Kerfoot for the 4.5m Manson and non NHLer Frost. Kral as the 7th Dman?

Not sure the wild give you a 3rd for Holl, but I bet there’s a deal to be had with a shiny new victor rask going back for him.

I don't see exchanging Muzzin for Manson and Holl for Dermott/Liljegren as upgrades.

The only team Muzzin would waive for would be back to LA therefore bringing his value down but even then I'm still probably light on his value. As for Holl I don't think he's that great, he's just a guy, I'd rather have sandin playing big minutes with a proven steady guy on the right side therefore making Holl expendable.

I'd rather not move off kerfoot and just couldn't think of another way too keep him in this roster.

The way I looked at it was the value Kase has brought to our third line out weighs the value of kerfoot beside Tavares, I know kerfoot has been good so far this year but our third line hasn't been this good since Tavares first year with Kadri below him.

How is Mrazek a viable backup right now? Please explain.

So a goalie who can't stay healthy with a GAA of 4.2 and .877 on the season (albeit 2 games) at 3.8M is better than woll at the moment?

yes, a goalie who has a proven track record and has been a legit starter in recent memory is a much better option than a fresh rookie who has had 2 good games recently despite never even being able to put up even a 900sv% in the AHL for the past 3 years, especially when you're trying to contend and not burn Jack Campbell out.

So, you think 2m Holl is "just a guy", though he plays 20 minutes a night and plays big minutes on the Leafs very good PK. But is what I find absurd is signing the current just a guy Manson for 4.5m.
Again we see this time and time again, bottom enders for the Leafs seemingly have no value but bottom enders from non Leaf teams are saviours.

Last year Holl yes I agree, this year Holl no he hasn't been good, he has been below average, just cause he plays Pk and 20 minutes a night doesn't make home above average, we all know the forwards have been carrying our Pk this season. Manson is definitively than Holl not by a massive margin but he is a better player.

Holl had a rough start this season but now he is playing just fine. Seems like so many Leaf fans so the mistakes their own players make, but because they don't see others teams players they think they are virtually perfect. It's 2022 in a month. it isn't the Manson of 2015.

No Holl isn't just fine he's still slipping up, have you been watching last year's games or something? He seem indecisive in his decision making and is looking to just get rid of it unless he has two player support. I'm not saying Manson is fantastic I think he is a notch below Muzzin which reflects in his salary.
