This smells more like LeBrun trying to cook up a story than anything substantial. Price is already in Montreal today skating (without equipment) and is going to meet with team doctors in the next few days to be reevaluated. Seems like an after Christmas return is most likely. As for LeBrun he just asked the question of "where does Price fit into a rebuild IF that is the route Montreal goes". My thought on this is Montreal will trade off their expiring contracts this year draft top 10 and go into next season with pretty much the same lineup hoping that the team gels better cause let's face it there really is not a player in the lineup who has preformed to his potential this year except Poehling. There is no way an entire team drops off a cliff like this all at the same time.

Yeah LeBrun just asked where he fit in a rebuild and that several contenders including the Caps were interested in what is going to happen. Price still holds a full NMC and probably isn't interested in another rebuild so that is why everything is blowing up right now. Like I said though this team likely tries again next season (maybe under a new coach) and then goes from there. I don't think they are going full on rebuild until at least after they see where they stand next year.
