If I am the Sens GM I meet Nick Paul and tell him that I have a trade to a contender on the table, Sens season is lost so go and have fun and try to win a Cup. But come back this summer as we have a multi-year offer for you. Due to their cap situation, Leafs won't really have the chance to extend you, so we want you to come back

Ottawa accepts if it's Pierre Engvall instead of Joey Anderson

That is a ridiculous proposal. Even with a retention.

You are essentially asking for 2 first round picks a second and a third. Jack Eichel was traded for less than that.

Hard pass on that one.

It’ll take a 2nd to take on Ritchies contract, plus a pick for the retention. You can keep the 2nd if you take out either Ritchie or the retention, and also keep the 3rd if you take out both
