No way Montreal does that. He is there future RN. They would definitely want a top prospect. And how will you resign Nathan MacKinnon?

It isn’t as bad as some of the awful Price to COL trades, but yeah that is bad for MTL.

mack's raise comes from ej's contract coming off the books. that gives the avs $12.3m to work with.

Well it's not as bad as the usual MTL offers going the other way but I reckon the Habs pass on this one lol.

I can see how you dear that conclusion but I have a problem with it for 2 reasons.

1)
Buffalo HAD to move Eichel, it was clear their relationship had deteriorated to the point he likely wasn't going to play another game. Eichel was also needing a very risky surgery. Buffalo had to settle for a sub-par return.

Suzuki in MTL is completely different. MTL has no reason to trade him, and wouldn't settle for a mediocre return because why would they.

2)
Value wise Krebs and Tuch >> Compher and Kaut

1. fair point. eichel did ask for a trade. the surgery isn't that risky. it's had good results among players in other contact sports. experts in that specific surgery all expected a full recovery.

2. krebs and tuch >> compher and kaut but eichel >>>> suzuki too. eichel has been near a point per game player in the league and suzuki is on pace for a career high 50 points. obviously he doesn't get the same price as eichel.
