Initial Creation Date: Dec. 12, 2021

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Calgary need more offense from guys like Dube, Backlund, Coleman, Monahan. The first line is carrying too much of the load.

I think Dube is a good young guy with upside but he's not having a great year and I wouldn't mind trading him for an upgrade. Monahan got to get going too. Ok he's good defensively but he's paid to score goals.

I think Ruzicka is playing well enough to stick and I would give Pelletier a couple of games too.

Sabres probably decline. The first would be nice, but we need centers in our system badly, and I doubt they’ll be eager to give up Tage.

Clearly you haven’t been watching Thompson play this year. And if it’s such a steal for Buffalo why the hell would you want to make the trade? And better how? Thompson has as many goals as Dube has points this year.

Thompson is playing really well and his value is higher than Dube. Dube is having a rough year but the talent is there. Hagg and Zadorov are both ufa, and the 1st is to compensate for that and the salaries. Dube can play at center too.

First of all I’m not a flames fan, second of all there’s more to being a good player than just looking at points, Thompson is just now proving he can be an nhl player at 24 where as dube has been successful in the nhl since he was 21

Thompson was a very tall and skinny teenager, it's harder to adapt to your body when you keep growing. Now he's starting to put more muscle and it pays off. He's very good

I wouldn't say so no. He missed a year and is being given top line minutes in RFD to get his confidence and health back up. I am hoping to see him back in the NHL in the coming months. If he is not playing NHL next year then I would say he is a bust yes.

Is Nylander officialy a bust? Yes he is and Botterill did great to get anything for him, but Jokiharju was a steal.
Zadorov is a player the Sabres could use, they are very soft and the Rangers took advantage of that the other night.
Hägg is playing really well and Zadorov would not make a significant upgrade.
We know Zadorov has the value of a third, Hägg about a 5th or even a 4th to a team looking for an inexpensive LHD who can hit.
The first is nice, but it will be late so it has the value of a very good second.
Zadorov will not be needed next year when Power, Samuelsson and Bryson will vie for the last 2 LHD spots.
Finally, Thompson has demonstrated the ability to perform well for the past 4 seasons.
First in Rochester starting in 2018-'19 and 2019-'20 when he scored 14 goals in 27 games.
When he was recalled in early 2019 he was hurt and could not demonstrate he was ready.
Last year, Krueger handcuffed him, but once Granato was appointed HC, Thompson responded with 7 goals in the last 23 games.
This year he is on pace to 30 goals (10 in 27 games or 1/3 of the season)
You need to watch Thompson play, the best description of his performance was made by my son, "You know when he is on the ice."
He is perpetual motion, fast, strong, long reach, hard shot, unselfish, works hard.
I would pass on this trade, I think Thompson will flourish playing for Granato.

Of course you know when he’s on the ice he’s 6’7, he has a good shot but I haven’t seen anything else from him that makes me believe he’s gonna turn into some insane scorer also you have to consider that his stats are inflated because he’s playing so much in Buffalo because of how bad they are on any other team besides Arizona he plays in the bottom 6
