You are correct as none of these teams make these deals.

With emphasis on the word “improbable”, I see.

Also, did you just sign Alex Cotton to play on your first pairing? He’s by no means ready for NHL action, let alone minutes that big.

No he was signed for 2nd pairing lol I had originally designed the team for a turn around after Christmas hence the title then I decided to set it up for a turn around next year and leave the injured players out this year lol.

Considering that the Oilers trade is one of the biggest rumors out there and the Wideman trade involves a mid round pick to ANY contender, those teams aren't passing. Also Detroit is in the playoff hunt, I could see them giving up 2 B prospects and a 1st for Dvorak and a 3rd. As for the Calgary trade I said it was a long shot on Coronato but worth it since Toffoli was the better player. And since many Flanes trades for Toffoli are Monahan + 3rd I figured swapping the 3rd for Coronato and adding a 2nd from Montreal may make up the difference.

Ok, the fact that Cotton is lined up with Romanov on the first pairing and the year is 2021-22 doesn’t help, but I understand now. Still don’t think Cotton is NHL ready by next year though.

Yeah my bad about the change mid creation lol. I was looking at Cotton he is 20 and paired with Eddy on the 2nd pairing (assuming Petry and Edmundson are healthy) and having Kulak-Savard as the 3rd pairing would create 3 solid pairings and Cotton may surprise.

1. Just because Detroit is in the hunt doesn’t mean Yzerman would spend this year’s 1st
2. Dvorak would be our third line center, he’s not worth giving up a 1st rounder for when Detroit already has Larkin and Suter as the top 6 centers
3. I know Chiarot could go to Edmonton but paying a 1st and a good prospect for him is definitely an overpay
4. Why would the Flames give up Coronato? Toffoli and Monahan aren’t that far off in value, so there’s no way they’re giving up a 13th overall pick in the most recent draft for a 2nd rounder

1. I think the odds of Yzerman giving up a mid to late 1st and 2 ok prospects for a solid 3C and fringe 2C may be higher than you think especially since it means adding an upgrade to a very important position down the stretch.
2. That's the point If Larkin goes down then you have Suter as the only center capable of playing top 6 and he would move to the top line while Dvorak slides into the 2C hole. If Suter goes down then Dvorak slides into the 2C seamlessly. Any way you look at it having Larkin-Suter-Dvorak is not a bad thing especially if one gets hurt down the stretch.
3. Choarpt will get a 1st even without retention adding Lavoie is just to make sure Edmonton wins the bidding.
4. Yeah like I said in the description I wasn't really sure about adding Coronato just more wishful thinking lol

Yzerman has preached patience since his 1st press conference as the Wings GM. This trade for Dvorak goes directly against that and what he has stated. He has built this team and knows that they are no where near close to be trading 1st round picks, and most definitely for a guy like Dvorak.

lmao, no thanks. Toffoli is no-where near as valuable as Coronato. Monahan and a 5th is equal to him

Yeah, like I said several times above it was more wishful thinking and I wasn't even sure Calgary would go for that lol
