Description
maybe he gets claimed on waivers but better in minors than a buy out in the summer.

Cant fix all the holes this year but maybe the D will be good enough wiht improved goaltending and forward depth....

for all those MAF and Koski numbers are the same....take out the first 5 games of the year and see who is trending in the right direction

with some very easy to find bottom feeders, salary should be easy to unload in offseason.

Arz has like 4 players signed past this year....its either overpay old vets to sign there, if can convince some to come to just lose so much, as an example they will be looking for salary so can get to the floor....

Start worrying about that in the off season and be aggressive...Holloway, Broberg coming gives a couple years of ELC flexibility as well

Using the Blake Coleman trade between the Devils and the Lightning as precedent, a 1st round pick gets the conversation started.

And then, Turris and Benson will need to be swapped out for a quality prospect.

Ottawa declines.

You are aware that Coleman had half the cap hit of Connor brown for better production pre trade. I get what you’re trying to say, but don’t overvalue him at 3.6m

Don't look now but not only is Kassian not on waivers, he's practicing on the 1st line with McDavid.

Ottawa will retain half of Connor Brown's salary to make it 1.8 million.

The value going to Ottawa needs to either be the same as from the Coleman trade or somewhat better.

If the trade was proposed with retention then sure the value goes up, but if there’s no retention then the value goes down

This is too much Quantity over Quality. Would probably ask for the 22' 1st due to the nature of the 2nd and 3rd picks being conditional based on your performance, which coincidentally helps us also.
