No point in adding Halak when you have Francouz buried in the AHL

I think thats too much for Cogliano. I like the player but id rather just give a pick for him instead of Kaut with a 3rd coming back

Also LOC would not be a healthy scratch

If something happens to kuemper I feel much better with halak than francousz in playoffs.

Cogs I like for pk and solidify fourth line. I’m not sure kaut gets a second right now so figured a useful player and a third would be a nice middle ground

Goaltending for COL is a huge question mark if Kuemper goes down. Having Halak would be a good insurance option instead of relying on Francousz (or their 3rd/4th/etc.) the entire way in the spring.

Sharks pass, they aren’t trying to trade away picks. Cogs will return a pick in the mid rounds. That plus a third, not sure Kaut has lived up to that.

Let’s start with LOC you obviously don’t know him at all as he is killing it so much so Bednar has been giving him significant minutes in the top 6 with Landeskog out. He is a forechecking beast that is a lock for the playoff lineup.

Sakic isn’t trading a 3rd for a goalie just isn’t happening, unless there is an injury to Kuemper. Cogs is just redundant and it’s pointless to trade a cost controlled asset for him.

I like Kaut, but I don't think this trade is what we're looking for. Our ur team has lots of youngsters from the AHL playing games and Cogliano has been a good locker room presence for them. In a year where the Sharks have been inconsistent, I think trade with Cogs should have a mid-draft pick for a return. Again, I wouldn't mind having Kaut on our team, but I do think there are options that better suit both teams than the one here.

halak is no saviour, hes not saving anything if Kuemper goes down hes an average back up, no different than having Francouz.
He's just a goalie not a good insurance options, and at the price of a 3rd that is an easy decline for a guy who would be the 3rd goalie, taking up cap space and a roster spot.
