Description
idk my favourite prospect in this draft is Conor Geekie he will have to play in the minors just because. cap is hard I want to keep Mrazek he's not to bad and his contract is pretty moveable if needed. I needed a defensive defensemen that why I acquired bear even though Carolina will be asking for more. I feel that the Dallas trade was pretty fair they get a bottom 4 D man in Dermott who I think needs a new scenery and Engvall who is also pretty good bottom 6 player. for cheap. The Kerfoot trade is a cap dumb if I would keep Kerfoot he is playing well but I think Roberson need to come up soon start him on the third pairing and move him up with time to the second line and lower Calle to the third. Calle is a pretty good 2 way forward can produce offense if needed but he's better defensively so that the pairing I'd throw out if your playing a high power first line like Avalanche and bruins to shut them down.

OK if I took out the second and had the trade Kerfoot for O'connor and and third is that better

You have to remember... The Avs have had Kerfoot. Nope. Not happening. A 2nd is close to value, but LOC and a 3rd on top of that? Seriously?

no. oconnor plays a role that kerfoot can't fill. good pk'er, great speed, gritty and a great contract. id rather add another player like that than a middle six scorer.

O'Connor is not available. His contract makes him too valuable to move

Canes are trying to win, not give up a dollar for 4 quarters. Especially when 3 of the 4 quarters do nothing for us.

o'connor is playing almost 30s more of pk time per game. he also manages to get offensive chances while do it. i like o'connor better.

In order to move up in the draft (perhaps to select Geekie), Toronto has to actually give something of value to Dallas (or whoever you’re trying to trade up with), not a bunch of spare parts.

Engvall would be the same thing to any other team that he is to Toronto, a solid bottom 6/depth option, but he's a UFA so he really holds no value. Dermott is 25 now, about to enter his prime, his development is nearly over, perhaps with a change of scenery he could be a fringe #4 guy but definitely not guaranteed, he's a bit of a can of worms.

You likely have to start with a 1st to get into a conversation about Bear. Either that or Amirov, either way it will be an uncomfortably high price for Toronto

Canes won’t ask more for Bear, because they won’t be trading him. Fans love Bear, Canes love Bear, and he has looked amazing for us. Adding Martinook to the trade is just adding insult to the injury. Martinook may only be a fourth liner, but he is valued by the canes for his great leadership, which is why he wears an A on his jersey. Canes won’t want to trade him as well. Maybe the leafs shouldn’t overpay their top guns, that way they might actually be competitive.
