No from Winnipeg. The Jets need Demelo and don't need Kerfoot or want to get stuck with his contract next season.

Jets need DeMelo yes, but being "stuck" with the final year of his contract seems harsh...... having a great season, was very good last year as well. And of note, makes the same as Statsny. Would not be the worst idea in the world.

🤷‍♂️Kerfoot’s 19 points would put him 1 behind Scheifele, 2 behind Copp. Agreed the trade makes no sense for either side but yet notion that Kerfoot is some cap dump or not a good player is ridiculous.

Stuck in the way of, the Jets may need to move Demelo in the off season to clear cap space, so taking on an extra 500k for a player they don't need with a M-NTC, doesn't make it any better. Just stay with the cheaper player that plays a more valuable position in Demelo.

I understand Toronto wanting to move Kerfoot to spread their cap to more places they need it, but the Jets don't have the cap space luxury to help them out.

I think they are more likely to move Dillon or Schmidt honestly.....

Better shot of keeping Copp, and more obviously, making room for Heinola.

Hard to say. Most fans think it will be Demelo that moves since Schmidt and Dillon are better.

Agreed, they are better.

But, I think Stanley and Poink make a good pair (Stanley should be able to take on more ice time). Morrisey and Schmidt have been very good together.

Leaves DeMelo and Dillon. Heinola should make that team...... just not sure if Dillon has ever played his offside, which leads me to think it maybe Dillon.

Kerfoot >> DeMelo

The whole thing about NEEDING A TOP 6 LW…. now that we have a guy playing like a top 6 LW, we want to trade him?
Wow

Galchenyuk barely makes the ARZ roster. But he’s second line on ours?
Lmao.

Chucky can **** off as far as im concerned

Fun story we offered him a 1 year 1mill deal and he turned it down as he thought he would have a better opportunity in Arizona

Well so far he has suffered injuries, been a healthy scratch and has 2 assists while making 250k less than what we offered

So I guess playing with Tavares and Nylander was not good enough for him or the fact he saved his NHL career

Wasn't enough he thanked us by costing us Game 5 but to think he could do better with the Coyotes

Yeah have fun in the KHL next season as thats where your ending up

Now as for Demelo. I like him but I cant see us giving up Kerfoot as he has been so good lately.

So undecided for that one but not bad

Leafs need Kerfoot a lot more than DeMelo. And DeMelo replacing Dermot, doesn't help the Leafs much if at all. Not the Gally is any help, but the Leafs do that trade for cap relief, but Arizona doesn't do that deal.

There is no urgency for the Jets to trade any of the defenseman mentioned in the thread (DeMelo, Schmidt, Dillon) before the trade deadline, as none are on expiring deals. If they need to move on from one, then the Jets would have more options in the offseason.
