Yeah, his regular season stats have regressed, so has his compete level in the regular season. As playing 60+ games per year playing at his top level, was leaving him worn and torn by playoff time. There is an obvious change when it comes to Playoff Price vs Regular Season Price. Price at $5.25M and a decent back-up goalie to play half the games during the regular season, would be the strategy that any team would have to run with, Hence Montreal trading for Allen.

For five more years though? Come on, man.

4 more years. I get the concern. And i get it sounds funny to have a Reg Season Goalie and a Playoff Goalie. Just do the Tampa Strategy and throw him on LTIR all season

But i would bet my house on Price being good to go each of those playoffs and in vintage Price form. When playoffs hit, he will destroy his body to make a save and play throw any injury, Price played these playoffs on 1 leg, and was only bested by Vas (check out his equipment... amazing goalie, but come on)
