These are all overpays by the leafs, especially since they probably wont be able to retain a single ufa

Arizona because it doesnt fit their rebuild, but dallas isnt going to get much better than that for someone who has fallen off a cliff the past year or two

Nope not at all Marner doesn't fit Az rebuild timeline it's an absolutely horrific trade for Az. Besides what's to be jealous of one and done Toronto TB has won 3 Stanley Cups since Toronto won a playoff series.? Are you kidding me

Not taking Ritchie and Marner doesn’t fit a rebuilding team unless they can retain some salary and move him for futures… but then why not just do that with Chychurn and not have dead salary??

Okay, the way I see this is . . . you've traded away last year's first, this year's first, next year's first, your 2019 second and last year's second, all for Jakob Chychrun and the right to sign a bunch of guys, only one of whom you can probably afford to be a big-ticket guy (presumably Jack Campbell or maybe Peter Forsberg)*. Boy, that's really going all in/trading the future to win now!

*Looking at your Long-Term Outlook, you can probably sign Kase, Spezza, Boyd, Sandin and Liljegren for an aggregate of about $5 million, leaving you $12 million to sign five more players.

If they're selling they're gonna have to take back bad salary. Everyone else who does it does

Then add more value. Even then adding another under performing forward to our collection is an easy way to piss off an already frustrated fan base. Good teams get production from their bottom six. We don’t. It’s an issue

I think another team will cough up a first and a prospect as good as Robertson without a bad contract with term going the other way.

You want more value then the stars need to add more value. The value for klingberg is there. The salary makes it work.

Then send an expiring salary. Ritchie’s money doesn’t go away after this year. Klinger’s does

Last I checked the Preds were on top of the west,

Not sure what incentive they would have for this, they are honestly the least likely of the 3 to move that player
