Gally is signed too long and his decline has been too pronounced to justify a 1st and Vilardi. I also don’t see the Kings in on Chiarot or any other rentals.

Danault has made several of our players look good, finding a player with chemistry with him isn’t the issue, they just need a sure fire 25 goal player if they are spending $5M+ on his winger.

With Price and Byron returning soon we are over the cap, it can be made up by burying players though.

Its doubtful that Edmonton would give up Barrie, Bourgault, and their 2022 1st round pick in a single trade unless the return was much more significant than what you are offering.

Found this on another post :

See, now that's a legitimate concern that can be debated in terms of value. Much better than he's 30 and has a 5 year deal. The latter only has bearing when age is noticeably a factor in a player's decline.

Gallagher's only injury concern should be his left hand, really. It's not like he has a chronic illness. He's just always in the tough areas of the ice and a victim of bad luck. Him "paying the price" is a merit, not a detraction.

He's never relied on speed, agility, or his shot. That makes him less susceptible to decline. He's going to get hurt, that's an occupational hazard. That never stops him. He comes back and keeps doing the same thing he did before, no fear and a smile on his face.

There's been no noticeable impact on his game due to injuries. He's still remained on a 30 goal pace in shortened seasons. This year is an anomaly until proven otherwise.

If you are pretty sure he's going to miss a dozen or so games a season, and your team can't handle that, I'll even agree with you that you shouldn't trade for him.
Most teams are okay with that risk for a player that is otherwise effective, but not every team has the depth.

People simply need to get out of this mindset that 30+ automatically means washed up or declining. Now we aren't even letting players turn 30 before declaring them cap dumps. That's simply wrong.

Tbh this season was just an outlier for Gallagher in terms of scoring, while the whole team can't score and is decimated by the Covid protocol. He also lost his teammates of the last three seasons. I expect him to bounce back to the goal scorer he was once he's established with new linemates. He scored 31 in 2017-18, 33 in 2018-19, was on pace for 30 in 2019-20 and 32 in 2020-21. I'm not saying it's worth giving up Vilardi because his contract remains a certain risk.

I don’t think 30 something is washed, but if you just spent three years moving a lot of your 30 something players to get younger and immediately get a 30 something player by giving up those young assets you got over those three years, I have to think you aren’t doing a great job rebuilding.

It all depends in the direction your team is going. If Byfield and Turcotte could break ur second line. Danault and Gallagher would make an incredible 3rd line.

I honestly do too, but the Kings need a player like Gallagher who will likely be in his peak years when the Kings get to be a Stanley cup contender (maybe two seasons from now), I don’t think he’s a good fit for a team just starting their ramp up into competition.

Gallagher hasn’t even started to decline yet. All the defense are catching g up on how to play him that’s all. He’s still 30 + goal scorer and top six RW
AND BEREGVINS FAVOURITE PLAYER IN THE ENTIRE LEAGUE. So that said the odds are very great he will be goi g to LA. And they will be paying the price for a top 6 RW 30 goal scorer .

That’s quite an expensive third line. I think people have missed what Danault is for the Kings. He is here as a defensive leader for this team, if you want to be a top-6 center on the Kings be a better two way player than these two selke candidates. Once Kopitar leaves he will continue to keep this team defensively sound, it’s a defense first system and players like him drive the bus.

He might be a “third liner” at some point but still take defensive face offs against the top lines in the league, and letting Byfield and Turcotte take more ozone time.

Biggest concern in this deal is really vilardi s back issues his career was almost over before it started and it doesn’t take much to re injure the back once it has been before especially in this game.

Beregvin is an advisor, and gets good value out of teams for trades. If you think Gallagher will thrive and is looking forward to a rebuild, then keep him. There are better top-6 options who will be free agents next season for the Kings

The first is for chia rot who we retain on and take the Ollie Matta cap dump. So immediate upgrade on your left d plus cap savings. Gallagher retained to 5.5 is your basically your average price for too 6 established forward you just happen to be getting g a 30 goal score which makes 5.5 million on steal when you consider what he brings to the table beyond the 30 goals. All for one former A prospect with skating and back question marks. I’m not too sure it takes Blake and company long to say yes to that deal

And no mistake about it LA wants in on the playoffs this year for their young players to get a taste and experience and for the old boys who only got two or three years left to pull one out in that city. Basically Gallagher will replace brown who is done in three four months

Kings aren’t getting any rentals, they are a bubble team in regards to Chiarot.

In regards to Gally, would you rather hope that Gallagher goes back to being a 30 Goal Player and give up Vilardi and Athanasiou or get Forsberg on a line with Kopitar and Arvidsson for a few million more and no loss of prospects?

Savard is a cap dump, he's not an upgrade on any of the Oilers RHD. He's an AHL player at this point.

Lehkonen is a 3rd line LW, he's not better than Foegele so not an upgrade either.

Allen is a career backup who is below average this season. The Oilers have at least two better goalies when healthy, maybe three. Not an upgrade.

Perreault is a 4th liner, not an upgrade on any Oilers player either.

Hard pass.

Totally mystified that you think this package of bums is worth a 1st + Barrie + a top prospect. The level of delusion is hard to fathom.

Savard is top 4 Defenseman who actually plays Defense which Barrie can not every oiler fan I talk to is begging someone to take Barrie and his 4.5 million dollars off the roster so Savard upgrades you defensively while saving 1 million. Plus he would instantly improve Keith’s play as well they would actually work well together. So there is that instant upgrade and cap savings. No need to thank me there.
Next Lehkonen can play either wing and is one of the best defensive forwards in the league period. He is exactly the bottom six depth the oilers need he improves any bottom six forward you have. Allen is an upgrade on kosinken evzryone knows that owe and just saved you another 2 million. And Perreault is upgrade on turris as well while saving you another cool 1.5 million.

So like I said upgrade everywhere plus 5 million roughly in cap savings which you can use now to acquire another upgrade any any position you fancy or stay as is miss the playoffs and piss off Connor and Leon some more I’m just answering the calls of Edmonton fans who say they need help and these are the positions they are saying we get way more selling piece off separately to your competition.

League wide 5 million cap spca asking price is roughly a first just saying that’s the going rate.

Savard is one of the worst defensemen in the league, his 5v5 play is abysmal. He was 15-41 goals in CBJ, 2-10 in Tampa and is currently 17-29 in Montreal. He's old, slow and can't defend at the NHL level anymore. Hard pass.

Lehkonen isn't a bad player, but he's a defensive 3rd line winger and that limits his value. He's not worth prime assets.

Allen MAY be an upgrade in Koskinen (debatable), but Koskinen is the Oilers 3rd best goalie, there's no need to pay anything to "upgrade" a 3rd goalie.

Perreault may be an upgrade on Turris but he's not $1.5M cheaper (math is hard, isn't it) and Turris is like the Oilers 14th or 15th forward - no reason to go out and buy an "upgrade" for that position.

So no deal. You aren't even close to a deal.

I'm not buying what you're selling, which is false advertising.

You're offering a scant $1.025M worth of savings and calling it $5M. So not only are you delusional, you also can't do basic math. LOL.
