LA Blockbuster Bergy Vibes

Created by: FiveForFighting
Team: 2021-22 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 15, 2022
Published: Jan. 15, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
LA gets Price at 5.75M for the next few years and get a solid LD in Chiarot for the Playoffs.

Brown’s contract expires after this season, Quick after the next. They actually would have room to acquire another player at the TDL with this move. Plus Bergevin knows both players well. Habs get a Late 1st in 2022 and good prospect in ****emo

Trade makes absolutely no sense for LA. Why trade Quick who has been playing amazing this season for Price? Brown will more than likely remain with the Kings for his career. And I don’t think they’re a big enough contender to trade a 1st for Chiarot

Quick and Petersen are playing great, why would they bring in price? They also don’t have a need for chiarot at the price of a good prospect and a 1st. LA doesn’t consider this for a second

I think my fellow Habs fan doesn’t know Peterson is good and has a 5M contract starting next year

wow, that's rough for LA, they get worse at every possession here and their cap gets nuked.

Assuming Price returns to his former level of excellence (a BIG "if"), he won't be playing any better than Quick is playing now. And we have no idea when Price will return.

We made the Andrej Sekera mistake once before. We won't be trading for Ben Chiarot if a first-round pick is involved; I doubt we'd be interested if it costs us a second; I know we wouldn't be interested if it costs us a second and Fa-gem-o.

Brown and Quick are franchise icons. We can retain them to the end of their contracts at minimal cost.
