Buffalo isn't remotely close enough to contending to do something like this

Chychrun is only 2 years older than Dahlin, it wouldn’t be the worst trade ever. I don’t see Buffalo and Arizona making a swap, but Buffalo has tried to jump the rebuild before. Just a different thought than the typical chychrun trades thrown around that are all the same

Buffalo pass, this does not help us in any way, why even trade a 21 year old defender with such potential? He is literally our best player, but right now he is in Chychrun's situation where he has almost no help. Perhaps with the addition Power, Quinn, Peterka and a few more guys, it will be easier for him and team.

Jakob should have been drafted by the Sabres.

Instead Murray drafted Nylander.
Bear in mind in the 2016-'17 season (the year after Jacob was drafted) Buffalo had the following defensemen play Gorges 66, Falk 52, Bogosian 56, Franson 68, Kulikov 47 a total of 289 games, I think there was room for Jakob on the roster.
I doubt his presence on the team would have kept the team out of last place to draft Dahlin the following year.
