So TO moves the highest value player in this trade to get a player with the same amount of points as the guy who is currently playing with Matthews and Marner because it's an upgrade. How exactly is this an upgrade? Next you'll be saying Edlers an up and coming star defenceman and not 35 years old.

Kempe is on pace for 35g this season on a team that had exactly one player reach that mark in the past 15 years. How many goals does Bunting have? Also, how good of a two-way player is Bunting? Kempe is exceptional at both ends of the ice and is a staple on both the PP and PK. How much time does Bunting play on the PK? Yes, Kempe is an upgrade in every area. Sandin does not have more value than he does.

Edler is a veteran stopgap to fill in until the end of the season when Toronto can sign someone else. He was having a quality season before he broke his ankle. He's expected back sometime next month.

I think Toronto is gonna keep Sandin as he will be good. He just needs time. I believe once Muzzin retires is when Sandin will be the top 4 guy we know he can be. Or heck maybe Sandin just needs a more experienced partner to help him out

Still I do love Kempe lul

To bad Kings got so many RD as Kempe would be the one guy I may move Niemala for

This is not a great trade for either team. LA will be looking to add without subtracting. Kempe is their leading goal scorer, moving him would be a huge mistake.

I think LA would move Kempe if it meant getting them the LHD they've been looking for.

Sandin is too young to know if he's the LD they're looking for. He just got torched by the Rangers tonight. The Kings are better off being patient and holding onto their leading scorer or trading futures/prospects for a LD.

On pace for 18 goals and 52 points. And is solid two-way for like 900K. Kempe is on pace for 51 points. Also, you want to add a goal scorer to a line with Matthews on it? And take away a defender from a team struggling to keep D healthy? No thanks.

And? He wouldn't be the trigger man with Matthews on the ice, he would be the puck retrieval guy. Which Bunting is going a great job at and is scoring the same amount of points. So once again this isn't an upgrade and it costs more and is stupid.
