I just don’t believe they’d trade him after just getting him this offseason

Rick Dhaliwal is reporting that they’re already taking calls on him so that’s why I did it. Garland is probably the closest thing you could get to a potential Bryan Rust replacement if they so happen to need one.

It would be incredibly Canuckful for them to do something so thunderously stupid.....

...

.......

............. so yeah, maybe you do have a chance to get this done.

Then add in the fact that Pittsburgh’s roster is filled with Rutherford/Allvin guys and it sets up for a perfect trade fleecing.

I think they will get much better offers than this.

The only way you get Miller, Boeser, Garland etc. is for Marino

the whole point of them getting Kap was to get someone big and fast who would go fight for the puck. You replace him with another 5'10 midget winger.
They aren't going to do that. Especially when the team is playing so well.
If they move a guy out it's Zucker.

Bryan Rust is 5’11 and is arguably one of the best forecheckers in the NHL. Mind explaining that one to me if 5’10 is “too small?”

Rust is in the 5'10 5'11 range....and in case you haven't noticed the last few years, Crosby being the biggest guy on that line in the playoffs has not worked out the greatest the last few years.
Go look at what they said when they brought Kap back. They were looking for Size in their top 6. They knew they couldn't keep going in with a bunch of under 6' guys. The only guy they had over 6' was Malkin.
So you rush out and move the only winger they have in the top 6 over 6, and replace him with a guy who's 5'10.
I can tell you now, that's not going to happen.
They know they need size up there. If anything, if Zucker gets moved, and Rust walks, expect to see some guys with a bit more size there. They don't have to be 6'4, but they will probably be in the 6' - 6'2 range.
This team has made considerable efforts to get a bit bigger while not losing it's speed. Kap was part of that. So was Heinen. You could say Carter is part of that as well.
The idea they are going to run out and pick up guys who are 5'10 is no really looking at their recent history.

I would really hope the Canes might consider going after Garland. Always loved him when he played for the Yotes, and wish they went after him in the off-season.
